ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATION

Principal David McHugh is an RIAI Grade I accredited conservation architect, and the firm is an accredited Conservation practice with experience on Protected Structures across Ireland.

We undertake specialist architectural and building conservation works for public and private clients on residential, museum, office and leisure buildings across Ireland. Conservation reports, method statements, impact assessments, measured and photographic surveys and feasibility studies are all provided. Our own office at Mount Street was one of the first buildings in Dublin to have the façade repointed to the best modern techniques.

The key to a successful conservation project is often to arrive at a sustainable and viable use for the building, and to execute the work in a manner sympathetic to the old, while embracing the new. Most clients with old buildings want to draw out the best of the old, with contemporary fittings, finishes and services. The resolution of these wishes in a cost-conscious manner is key.  We work with our clients to achieve this.
